정각마다, 이 말을 확언하라. 두 차례 명상연습에서는, 깊은 경외심과 헌신으로 침묵시간에 들어가라. 이 명상은 당신의 예배시간이다. 당신은 지금 진정으로 교회에 간다. 의무감이나 두려움, 불안 때문에 가거나, 매몰찬 신에게 가지 않으면 안 된다는 느낌 때문에 가는 것이 아니라, 큰 기쁨으로 가며, 당신에게 온전히 내주는 것에 자신을 내주려는 소망으로 간다. 앎의 진정한 학생이 되라. 지금까지 당신에게 알려준 것을 모두 기억하며, 시간마다 활용하라. 내적으로, 외적으로 양쪽 모두에서 의미 있게 연습에 참여하라. 오늘 하루 더 강해지라. 당신이 자신의 삶에서 앎의 현존에 대해 배울 수 있도록 앎이 오늘을 당신에게 내주듯이 당신도 앎에게 오늘을 내주라.

앎은 신이 당신에게 준 선물이다. 왜냐하면 앎은 당신에게 신의 연장선이기 때문이다. 따라서 앎은 당신에게 신이 되겠지만, 앎 자신을 뛰어넘는 큰 것을 말할 것이다. 왜냐하면 앎은 당신이 자신과 관계는 물론 다른 사람들이나 삶과의 관계를 의미 있게 맺을 수 있도록 해주기 위해 여기 있기 때문이다. 이렇게 하는 것을 통해, 당신은 관계를 회복할 수 있고, 그리하여 신 안에 있는 당신의 참고향을 향해 나아갈 수 있다.
