당신이 어디를 가든, 무엇을 하든, 앎의 불은 당신 안에서 타고 있다. 정각마다, 앎의 불이 타고 있음을 느껴보라. 당신이 보는 것이나 생각하는 것에 상관없이, 앎의 불이 타고 있음을 느껴보라. 타고 있는 앎의 불은 당신이 자신의 주위에서 교사들의 현존을 느낄 때, 내면에서 느낄 앎의 현존이다. 앎의 불이 타고 있으니, 당신이 이것을 체험할 때, 그 불이 당신을 붙잡고 있는 것을 모두 소멸시킬 것이다. 즉, 당신을 늘 괴롭히며 짓누르는 것, 죄책감이나 무가치감, 고통과 갈등, 이 모두를 소멸시킬 것이다. 이런 것들이 소멸되면, 더 이상 당신 삶에 영향을 주지 않을 것이고, 당신 삶은 자연스럽게 더 통합되고 조화로워질 것이다.

오늘 정각마다, 앎의 불을 기억하고 체험함으로써 당신은 이 방향으로 큰 진전을 이룬다. 두 차례 깊은 연습 시간에는 앎의 성소에 있는 앎의 불로 다시 들어가라. 그 불이 당신을 위로하고 자유롭게 해준다는 것을 기억하라. 그 불은 당신을 태우는 것이 아니라, 오직 당신의 혼을 따뜻하게 해줄 것이다. 그리고 당신에게 위안과 확신을 줄 것이며, 당신 삶의 의미와 목적, 당신 내면에 있는 큰 것을 당신에게 확인해줄 것이다.

오늘 이 연습에 소홀하지 말고, 당신에게 주는 이로움을 온전히 느껴보라. 세상에 있는 그 어떤 것도 앎의 불이 줄 수 있는 확실성·힘·평화·일체감을 줄 수 없다. 그 어떤 것도 당신이 삶에 온전히 포함되어 있음을 당신과 함께 있는 교사들의 현존보다 더 일깨워줄 수는 없다. 그러므로 당신에게는 이미 필요한 체험이 있으며, 때가 되면, 이 체험에서 다른 사람이나 세상과의 관계, 지구가 위치하는 다세계 큰 공동체와의 관계로 체험을 넓히는 법을 배울 것이다.
