당신 마음 너머에 앎이 있다. 당신 존재의 진정한 핵심이자, 당신의 참자아, 세상을 헤쳐 나가기 위해 구축한 자아가 아니라, 당신의 참자아인 앎이 있다. 이 참자아에서 생각과 느낌, 성향과 방향이 나온다. 당신은 아직 참자아가 당신에게 전하는 말을 대부분 들을 수 없다. 하지만 당신 마음이 고요해지고, 듣는 능력과 분별력이 충분히 연마되면, 당신은 결국 듣는 법을 알게 될 것이다.

오늘 15분간씩 세 번 연습하라. 어제보다 더 주의 깊게 귀 기울이라. 당신의 깊은 성향들에서 나오는 신호가 있는지 귀 기울이라. 당신은 오늘도 어제처럼 판단 없이 귀 기울여야 한다. 어떤 것도 편집하지 않아야 하며, 듣는 법을 알 수 있도록 깊이 귀 기울여야 한다.
