가난한 자는 궁핍하므로 줄 수 없다. 가난한 자는 받아야 한다. 당신은 궁핍하지 않다. 왜냐하면 앎이라는 선물이 당신과 함께 있기 때문이다. 그래서 당신은 베푸는 자리에 있으며, 베푸는 가운데 당신 가치를 깨달을 것이고 어떤 궁핍감에서도 벗어날 것이다. 당신에게 꼭 필요한 물질적인 것들은 앎이 모두 제공할 것으로 믿으라. 비록 당신이 바라는 것을 제공하지 않을지라도, 앎은 당신에게 필요한 것을 필요한 만큼 제공할 것이다. 그래서 당신은 세상에서의 당신 본성과 부름에 맞게 공헌하는 데 필요한 것을 갖게 될 것이다. 그러나 당신에게 짐만 되는 것들로 부담을 주지는 않을 것이다. 당신은 정확히 필요한 만큼 가질 것이고, 세상은 지나치게 많거나 적은 것으로 당신에게 부담 주지 않을 것이다. 이리하여 모든 것이 완벽한 균형을 이룰 것이다. 앎은 당신에게 필요한 것을 줄 것이며, 이때 필요한 것은 당신이 정말 원하는 것이다. 당신은 아직 자신에게 필요한 것을 가늠할 수 없다. 왜냐하면 당신은 자신이 원하는 것에 빠져 있기 때문이다. 그러나 당신에게 필요한 것은 앎을 통해 드러날 것이고, 당신은 결국 필요한 것이 진정 무엇이고 어떻게 충족될 것인지 이해하게 될 것이다.

당신은 가난하지 않다. 왜냐하면 앎이라는 선물이 당신과 함께 있기 때문이다. 정각마다, 오늘의 말을 반복하고 나서, 당신이 지금까지 다른 사람들을 관찰한 것에 비추어 그 뜻을 살펴보라. 깊은 연습에서, 지금 당신이 가진 앎의 부를 자신이 체험하는 것을 허용하라.
