당신의 개체성 위에 세운 멋진 체계들과 개인적으로 당신과 관련된 모든 것ㅡ당신의 몸, 당신의 관념, 당신의 어려움, 당신의 독특한 표현방식, 당신의 개인적 성벽, 당신의 재능ㅡ이런 모든 것들과 상관없이, 당신은 삶과 떨어져 있지 않다. 자신을 단순하게 바라보면, 그래서 당신 몸을 이루는 구성요소 자체, 당신의 물질 생명 조직 자체가 완전히 물질계 삶에서 만들어진다는 것을 알면, 당신이 삶과 떨어져 있지 않다는 것은 아주 명백하다. 당신 몸이 주위 다른 모든 것과 같은 물질로 만들어진 것은 아주 분명하다. 신비한 것은 당신 마음이다. 마음은 전혀 다른 방식으로 이해해야 할 것처럼 보이지만, 마음 역시 당신의 육체 조직만큼이나 삶의 한 부분이다. 당신은 자신의 근원을 모르는 한 개체, 자신이 삶에 온전히 포함된 것을 알지 못하는 한 개체이다. 그래서 지금은 당신 개체성이 당신에게 짐이지만, 그 개체성이 삶 자체를 표현할 수 있을 때, 당신에게 큰 행복이 될 것이다.
